Our team utilizes evidenced based couples specific therapy approaches such as Attachment and Systems Theory, Gottmans Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy to support couples identify relational patterns, resolve conflicts, build stronger bonds and healthy communication. Gottmans Theory supports clients to identify the elements of stability within their relationship and the interactive patterns that are creating conflict. Identification is a starting point to help clients build relationship skills that promote closeness and deeper appreciation. Emotion Focused Therapy is a humanistically-based treatment that arose out of emotion theory and attachment theory. It assumes that we all have a very deep needs for safe connection and emotional contact, and that when we don’t get those needs met we get stuck in very negative interactional patterns. Understanding how these patterns may hinder us even further in meeting our needs, offers a gateway to provide an emotionally safe way to explore new patterns that address our needs and foster our connection with those we love.
