Social Networking Sites (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram)

Our company has a Facebook page that is not directly linked to any one therapist. On our page we post relevant business events or share thoughts or ideas regarding topics we believe may be relevant to our clientele and/or general public. It is not necessary for you to “Like” our page as it is not intended to solicit testimonials or endorsement from our clients. You are welcome to browse our posts without identifying your connection to our company as a client. Our therapists do not accept any “friending,” “contact requests” or “invites” from any current or former clients on any social networking sites. If such a request was to occur, our policy is to ignore the request to ensure your confidentiality is not compromised nor the boundaries of the therapeutic relationship blurred. You can further discuss this with your therapist in session if desired.

Search Engines (Google)

Search engines are not used to search for client information except under the rare occasion during a crisis or when safety may be a concern. If there is reason to suspect that you are in danger and you have not been in touch with your therapist, a search engine may be used to find you or someone close to you or to check on your recent status updates to ensure your welfare. On the rare occasion that these actions are taken, they are fully documented in your file and discussed in your next session.

Email

Email is not completely secure nor is it confidential for transferring sensitive information. Therefore, we limit our usage of email content to arranging or modifying appointments, or informing clients of upcoming relevant services. Communications by email are retained as “logs” by yours and our Internet Service Provider(s) and can be potentially read by system administrators of these providers. To keep your information confidential, therapy content is most secure when relayed in session. All email communication, received or sent, become a part of your legal record.

Video Sessions (Zoom)

We now offer full clinical care via video when clients are limited in attending sessions at our physical location. In these sessions, our clients have the confidence in receiving our full attention just as they would during an in-person session. The video rooms provided by Zoom are private and confidential. If you are interested in a video session, please ask your therapist. Once booked for a video session you will receive the details to connect you to your appointment. Ensure you test your mic and video before the actual session to reduce the likelihood of any technical difficulties.
