I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with over 5 years experience working with adults, couples, and parents. I am here to hold space, spark change, healing and growth for individuals and couples in their daily living and their relationships. I have a special interest and training in supporting women and their partners through pregnancy, postpartum and the adjustment to parenthood.
I believe in and practices inclusivity, compassion and non-judgment in my care with my clients. I am curious to understand you and how your worldview and cultural orientation influence your experiences. I believe each one of us is unique in our own way. Within our uniqueness, I firmly believe we each have strengths and inner wisdom. There may be times in our lives that we may feel very far or disconnected from that part of our selves, that knowing. So much so that we no longer can see it. Sometimes we need a little help to come back to and reconnect to that part of ourselves. To bring balance into our lives. To support us in our healing and growth through life’s challenges. To offer us practices that bring about moments of ease, peace and calm.
I am here to help you rediscover and reconnect with your inner strengths and wisdom; and to support you in building upon them while developing additional value-added tools and resources for overcoming your difficulties and living your best lives. My approach to therapy is holistic and client-centred. Together we will come up with a plan to support you in facing and overcoming the challenges that bring you in to therapy. I am trained in trauma-informed practices and evidence-based treatments for managing and reducing stress, anxiety, and depression, as well as building healthy relationships to self, and in relationship with others. Therapeutic modalities I have received training in include: Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy for stress management, anxiety, depression, perinatal anxiety and depression, and trauma healing. I apply the Gottman Method to support couples and individual adults struggling with relationship issues. My training in Circle of Security, Theraplay and mindfulness allows me to support parents in building healthy bonds/connections to baby and children. I also have specialized perinatal mental health training through Postpartum Support International (PSI) in Perinatal Mood Disorders: Components of Care, and Advanced Perinatal Mental Health Psychotherapy, along with a certificate as a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP).
