Natalya is a Registered Provisional Psychologist and has experience working in the human services field for the past eight years in various capacities which has helped prepare her to work with a diverse population. She has worked with women, children, adolescents and families, with varying mental health diagnosis including autism, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), addictions, and trauma.
Her approach to counselling stems from a systemic approach of both strength-based and client-centered. Her preferred therapeutic modalities include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, The Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Psychodynamic approaches, and Client-Centered and Solution-Focused Therapy. Natalya gains perspective and insight on the client’s lived experiences by hearing their stories and recognizing their capacity to be the expert of their own lives. She also believes in a holistic approach to counselling that could be achieved through collaboration and relationship-building. She considers an effective and competent counsellor as one who is accepting and confident in dealing with complex issues encompassing a wide range of concerns. Natalya’s practice is guided by the belief that she can make a positive difference in people’s lives.
